AVP, Senior Data Analyst, Data Governance (GDMO)
What You’ll Do
The successful candidate will join a dynamic team responsible for designing and implementing the Data Management and Governance Framework and its associated policies. This role aims to empower the bank to leverage data as an enterprise asset, supporting strategic decision-making and actions. Key responsibilities include:
Entrenching standards and controls within the enterprise-wide Data Management and Governance Framework and policies.
Collaborating with diverse stakeholders (e.g., Risk, IT, Business, Operations) to embed operational processes that support policy objectives.
Measuring and reporting the effectiveness of the Framework and policies to senior management using qualitative or quantitative metrics.
Reviewing results from Data Quality scorecards for Critical Data Elements, prioritizing gaps for closure, identifying owners, and tracking their resolution.
Providing secretariat support for bank-wide forums and committees.
Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders and the Data Management team to:
Identify opportunities for enhancements in data management capabilities and address operational or data issues within the data pipeline.
Ensure data management processes comply with the Framework and policies.
Collaborate with subsidiaries to track data management areas such as Data Lineage and Data Cataloguing.
In addition to these regular duties, the successful candidate will participate in department-related projects.

This role is situated within Group Risk Management, an independent function dedicated to protecting, building, and driving the organization’s businesses. The team supports sound decision-making through strong risk analysis and plays a crucial, comprehensive role in sharpening competitive edge and optimizing risk-adjusted returns. The focus is on adopting best-in-class practices, safeguarding the group from unforeseen losses, maintaining risk within acceptable levels, and managing growth within a leading financial institution.
Who They’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will preferably possess 3-5 years of related experience in data governance, data management, or data quality. Alternatively, candidates with 5 years of working experience in banking, particularly in a governance or MIS-related role, or in business consulting, will be considered.
Experience in data-related projects of similar scope and complexity, especially those involving data analytics and process improvement initiatives, will be a significant advantage. The candidate should have a general understanding of data management and governance principles and be able to articulate their benefits for data provenance and data discovery.
