Data Scientist – Operations
A prominent e-commerce and online marketplace company is seeking a Data Scientist – Operations to join their team. This role focuses on leveraging data science expertise to enhance business growth and optimize operational efficiency across the Southeast Asian market.
Responsibilities:
Provide actionable insights to fuel business expansion and improve operational effectiveness in the SEA region.
Utilize data science methodologies to develop solutions for critical commerce operations and product challenges, including supply and seller growth, and overall marketplace efficiency.
Collaborate closely with key stakeholders to monitor, diagnose, and refine overall business performance and health.
Conduct in-depth analysis and propose localized recommendations to align with business objectives.
Develop and enhance data infrastructure, including dashboards and self-serve analytics tools, to boost efficiency and support informed decision-making.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in data science or data analytics.
A bachelor’s degree or higher is required, with a preference for majors in quantitative fields (e.g., mathematics, statistics) or science/engineering fields (e.g., Computer Science).
Proficiency in SQL, Python, or R is essential.
Expertise in at least one of the following areas: advanced measurement (e.g., A/B testing, causal inference, or systems with complex trade-offs), modeling, or optimization.
Fluent English in both verbal and written business communication is necessary for working with a global team.
The ideal candidate will be proactive, self-driven, and impact-driven.
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strongly prefer candidates with prior e-commerce or online marketplace work experience.
Previous overseas business experience or analytical experience is a plus.
