This role involves collaborating with the IT Division on the planning and execution of data analytics projects, encompassing data extraction, data pipeline creation, and data validation. The individual will partner with internal Engineering departments and external entities such as vendors, research institutes, and Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs) on the development and operationalization of digital projects.
They will function as a Project Management Office, facilitating the Engineering Division’s digitalization and automation efforts, and coordinating relevant training. Responsibilities include setting up divisional and departmental dashboards, alerts, and reports, as well as working on data extraction, report/dashboard generation, analytics validation, and operationalization.
The role requires identifying opportunities and determining the value of projects where data analytics can provide insights for decision-making, such as inventory forecasting and aircraft spares prediction. The individual will offer guidance and support to business units within the Engineering Division in digitalization and data analytics, fostering strong relationships.
They will also assist the Data Governance Office on Data Governance (DG) matters, including formulating and updating the Master Data List and administering DG policies. Administrative duties include managing and coordinating management meetings, handling IT budget requirements, and preparing presentation decks for senior management and stakeholders. The role also involves designing prototypes and solutions for validation with the business units.
Requirements
Possess at least a Degree in Electrical and/or Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.
Be able to work proficiently and independently. Good interpersonal skills are necessary due to close interactions with various user groups and departments.
Be able to analyse, identify, diagnose problems, and provide effective solutions.
Meticulous, objective, and resourceful.
Effective communication and writing skills.
Conversant with standard IT applications such as Microsoft Office.
Experience and conversant in IT applications such as and not limited to: RPA, Python, Tableau, Microsoft PowerApps and Power Automate is preferred.
Familiarity with statistical analysis techniques, Dashboarding, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning techniques is valued.
