Job Description:
As a Data Scientist Manager, you will lead efforts in leveraging data to drive impactful solutions within the public services sector. You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of data science projects, from data collection and preprocessing to model development, deployment, and monitoring. Your role will involve both strategic thinking and hands-on execution, requiring you to step in and solve problems directly when necessary. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand their needs and translate them into data-driven insights. Effective communication of findings through visualizations and reports to various stakeholders will be crucial.
Key Responsibilities:
Collect, clean, and preprocess large datasets for analysis.
Develop and implement machine learning models and algorithms.
Perform statistical analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and provide data-driven solutions.
Create data visualizations and reports to communicate findings to stakeholders.
Continuously monitor and improve model performance.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in data science and machine learning.
Qualifications
Prior experience in Public Services will be ideal (optional)
Ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels, stepping in to solve problems directly when needed.
Proficient in Regression Models
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, Scikit-learn).
Strong knowledge of statistical analysis and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
