Head of Engineering

You will focus on driving efficiency, time to market and quality through robust process improvement, organizational development and innovative platform development.

Ensure the development team is aligned with the company strategy and drive value into the system offerings at every phase of our customers journey through design, operate and maintain.

Consult with senior leaders in providing direction to ensure business growth and financial success; predictably deliver high-quality, scalable solutions, assess and recommend how to maximize the value of the engineering organization across multiple time horizons.

Apply knowledge of embedded solutions and architectures to blueprint and manage the product development roadmap, build enhancements within an existing architecture, implement improvements to the architecture and develop a platform for the future.

Provide exceptional leadership to senior managers and managers who each manage their own engineering teams and also require you to engage and influence QA, product management, customer support, product design, UI, IT and other Shared Service functions.

To qualify you will need to be experienced at leading teams of diverse skills of engineers and experience developing/coaching other managers. You’ll need to bring excellent technical knowledge and strong leadership, planning, and management abilities.

The Essentials – You Will Have:

  • Minimum of 15 years of development/ R&D engineering experience.
  • A Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Experience in developing, implementing, modifying and utilizing various product development processes waterfall, SAFe, etc.
  • 5+ years of experience leading global development teams virtual, remote, hybrid.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience working with different forms of project/ program management
  • 2 years of experience managing iterative development methods such as Agile and Scaled Agile
  • Location is Singapore. Some travel to other North American and global campuses in (example: India, China, USA) would be required.
  • Demonstratable track record in building succession and growing organizational, managerial, and technical leadership.

The Preferred – You Might Also Have:

  • Knows key hardware methods and models as applied throughout the development and delivery process and has successfully developed and deployed them.
  • Has experience in and working knowledge of hardware development.
  • Industrial manufacturing experience as a design team, OEM or end user
  • Industrial automation experience with controller, drives, IO, HMI, industrial PC’s or communication- in particular familiarity and or certification with industrial standards such as ISO 62443 and ISO 61508 or their equivalents.
  • Experience working with complicated systems with many interdependencies and legacy support requirements.
  • Ability to leverage internal and external innovation to increase customer value and reduce time to market.
  • Experience establishing teams to architect platforms that are sustainable and scalable.
  • Stays current in the state of the art, technologies and talent.
  • Successful in data driven continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated examples of building collaborative relationships through indirect influence.
  • Leads and motivates with positivity, particularly in challenging environments.
  • A track record of growing talent, both at the Sr Technical levels and at the managerial level
  • Long term planner and an agile, creative short-term executor
  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in hardware development, preferably in large scale software programs
  • Minimum of 7 years in team leadership or management
