Job Title: Senior Data Scientist, Experimentation Platform

The Critical Tasks They Will Perform

  • They will design and develop automated frameworks for experimentation design and analysis.
  • They will create and manage large-scale statistical analysis pipelines to evaluate and interpret experiment data.
  • They will implement stochastic optimization algorithms for improved marketplace efficiency and personalised user targeting.
  • They will work with product teams to ensure experiments are rigorously designed and results are interpreted.
  • They will guide teams in applying proper experimental design and optimization methodologies.

What Essential Skills They Will Need

  • Their degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field will support their technical insights needed for this role.
  • They have over 5 years of experience conducting experimentation, statistical analysis, and optimization, ensuring they’re ready for complex challenges.
  • Their expertise in A/B testing, multivariate testing, and experimental design is essential to their success.
  • They have proficiency in statistical methods including hypothesis testing, power analysis, and causal inference, which are crucial for the role’s responsibilities.
  • Their programming skills in Python are necessary for statistical computing and will help implement solutions.
  • They’ve worked with multiple experimentation platforms and frameworks, reflecting their capability to build scalable systems.
  • Familiarity with multi-armed bandit optimisation algorithms and reinforcement learning will support their strategic decision-making in experiments.
