Job Title: Big Data Engineer – Ecommerce Recommendation Infrastructure

Responsibilities

As a Big Data Engineer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the data infrastructure that powers the ecommerce recommendation systems. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and implementing a robust offline data architecture for large-scale recommendation systems.
  • Designing and implementing flexible, scalable, stable, and high-performance storage and computing systems.
  • Troubleshooting production system issues, and designing and implementing necessary mechanisms and tools to ensure the stability of the overall operation.
  • Building industry-leading distributed systems for storage and computing to provide reliable infrastructure for massive data and large-scale business systems.
  • Developing and implementing techniques and analytics applications to transform raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software.
  • Applying data mining, data modeling, natural language processing, and machine learning to extract and analyze information from large structured and unstructured datasets.
  • Visualizing, interpreting, and reporting data findings, and potentially creating dynamic data reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with many open-source frameworks in the field of big data, e.g., Hadoop, Hive, Flink, FlinkSQL, Spark, Kafka, HBase, Redis, RocksDB, ElasticSearch, etc.
  • Familiarity with Java, C++, and other programming languages.
  • Strong coding and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Willingness to challenge questions without obvious answers and a strong enthusiasm for learning new technologies.
  • Experience with Peta Byte level data processing is a plus.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience.
