Data Engineering/Architecture Manager (Public Services)
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing enterprise-level data architecture, encompassing data models, databases, and data warehouses. This individual will define and enforce data standards, policies, and governance frameworks across the organization. Collaboration with stakeholders will be crucial to understand business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions. The role involves architecting and implementing data integration strategies, ETL processes, and robust data pipelines. Ensuring data quality, security protocols, and scalability will be a key focus. This manager will evaluate and recommend suitable data management tools, technologies, and platforms to meet organizational needs. Close collaboration with data engineers, analysts, and scientists will be necessary to support data-driven initiatives. The role also includes optimizing database performance and proactively troubleshooting data-related issues. Staying abreast of emerging trends and advancements in data architecture and technologies is expected.
Qualifications :
Prior experience within Public Services will be highly regarded. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to operate effectively at both strategic and tactical levels, demonstrating a willingness to step in and directly resolve problems when necessary. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. Proven experience as a Data Architect or in a similar capacity is essential. Strong expertise in data modeling techniques, database design (both relational and non-relational), and data warehousing principles is necessary. Proficiency in SQL, ETL tools, and various data integration technologies is expected. Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, is important. A solid understanding of data governance, security measures, and compliance standards is required. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills are crucial for success in this role. Experience with big data technologies, including Hadoop and Spark, would be advantageous.
