Data Scientist
Key Responsibilities:
This individual will be responsible for collecting, cleaning, and preprocessing large datasets to prepare them for analysis. They will develop and implement machine learning models and algorithms to address business challenges. A key aspect of this role involves performing rigorous statistical analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and valuable insights within the data. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential to understand their business needs and translate them into data-driven solutions. This person will also create compelling data visualizations and reports to effectively communicate findings to various stakeholders. Continuous monitoring of model performance and proactive identification of areas for improvement will be crucial. Staying informed about the latest advancements in the fields of data science and machine learning is also expected.
Qualifications
Ideally, the candidate will possess prior experience within Public Services (though this is not mandatory). The ability to operate effectively at both strategic and tactical levels, including stepping in to directly solve problems when necessary, is highly valued. Proficiency in the application of Regression Models is required. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a closely related field is expected. The candidate must be proficient in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL. Experience with machine learning frameworks, including TensorFlow and Scikit-learn, is necessary. A strong understanding of statistical analysis principles and familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau and Power BI are essential. Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop and Spark would be considered a significant advantage. The individual should possess excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, along with strong communication and collaboration abilities.
