Job Title: Data Delivery & Practice Director
What will you do?
This individual will lead a team to oversee the implementation of data analytics strategy for a client organisation, build capabilities, and develop new service offerings. Responsibilities include:
- Engaging in client-facing interactions, providing analyses, recommendations, presentations, and advice.
- Leading the day-to-day activities of delivery teams by developing, establishing, and maintaining project management standards and procedures.
- Adapting existing methods and procedures to create possible alternative solutions to moderately complex problems.
- Leading interdisciplinary teams that combine technical, business, and data science competencies to deliver work in waterfall or agile software development lifecycle methodologies.
- Understanding the strategic direction set by senior management as it relates to team goals.
- Using considerable judgment to determine solutions and seeking guidance on complex problems.
- Managing the timely reporting of data analysis outcomes and effectively communicating findings, insights, and recommendations to business leaders using data metrics on top of standard project management measures such as data quality and model accuracy.
- Overseeing team management, including budgets, forecasting, work allocations, and staffing.
- Driving presales initiatives, developing solutions, and engaging with customers to convert opportunities.
- Driving data delivery capability building and practice leadership, including data engineering, data platform management, and project/service delivery.
- Driving effective performance management practices within the department in accordance with organisation policies and procedures.
The ideal candidate should possess:
- More than 10 years of relevant experience including:
- At least 2 years of experience leading an Analytics consulting team with experience leading one or more MNCs through the journey to becoming a data-driven organization;
- And/or at least 5 years of experience implementing a broad range of Analytics/Business Intelligence projects such as Data Engineering, Data Governance and Management; visualizing KPIs on business dashboards; or applying advanced analytics/data science techniques to realize business values.
- Hands-on experience with one or more of the following Analytics technology stacks, as well as familiarity with a broad range of solutions for visualization, advanced analytics, data ingestion/transformation, storage, and hosting, and willingness to learn new ones on the job:
- Data Management & Storage: Informatica, Microsoft SQL Server, Big Data Platform, Talend, Cloudera, SAS
- Data Visualisation: Tableau, Qlik, Microsoft PowerBI, Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise, IBM Cognos, MicroStrategy, SAS etc.
- Statistical/Data Science Tools: SPSS, R, Python, Anaconda distributions, Jupyter
- Experience working with Singaporean clients and the Singapore government; familiarity with GDPR in Europe and PDPA in Singapore will be an advantage.
- Project management certifications such as PMP, Agile, ITIL.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field; strong preference for fields of study in engineering, computer science, statistics, or analytics.
