Job Description

This critical role within Group Networks will define and implement the AI strategy to enhance network operations’ efficiency and innovation. The role involves developing a comprehensive AI roadmap aligned with organizational goals and collaborating with operating companies (Opcos) to integrate AI across all network domains.

Key Responsibilities include:

• AI Strategy Development: Create the AI strategy and roadmap for Group Networks and Opcos, transitioning manual processes to AI-driven closed-loop Planning, Optimization, and Assurance for all network domains (RAN, Mobile Core, IP Transport, Fixed Access, OSS etc.).
• Technical Direction and Leadership: Provide technical leadership for AI initiatives across Group Networks and Opcos. Collaborate cross-functionally to embed AI capabilities into planning, optimization, and assurance, fostering innovation.
• Expertise in AI Technologies: Deep understanding of Descriptive, Predictive, and Prescriptive AI; and Generative AI (GenAI) technologies, including AI models (e.g., GPT-4, Llama), Large Language Models (LLM), Small Language Models (SLM), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Prompt Engineering, training, inference, co-pilots, and AI agents.
• Data and Analytics Strategy and Implementation: Develop and execute the Data and Analytics Strategy for Group Networks, including a blueprint aligned with group data practices. Collaborate with Group Data COE and Opcos on a technology roadmap for data-driven decisions, ensuring data quality, security, and accessibility.
• Data Ops: Oversee data management for collection, storage, and processing. Ensure data availability and integrity, implementing best practices.
• Data Processing: Manage raw data transformation into usable information throughout the data processing workflow.
• Data Engineering: Design and build scalable data systems, creating data pipelines for accessible and usable data formats. Manage computing, storage, and processing activities.
• Data Governance: Establish and enforce data management policies, focusing on data quality, security, and availability for business intelligence.
• Data Fabric: Develop an architecture for end-to-end integration of data pipelines and cloud environments, implementing automated systems for unified data with embedded governance and security.
• Data Exposure: Ensure data accessibility for AI models and advanced analytics to drive data-driven decision-making.
• Autonomous Network (AN) Strategy and Implementation: Expertise in TM Forum AN Framework and specifications (IG1218I, IG1326, IG1269, IG1256, IG1230). Develop a strategy and roadmap for Group and Opcos to reach AN Level 4, leveraging hybrid AI (Predictive and GenAI like co-pilots, agents, Digital Twins) for closed-loop automation. Identify automation opportunities with Opcos to enhance network performance and reduce costs.
• Other Roles and Responsibilities: Provide thought leadership on AN, AI, and Operational Excellence. Foster cross-functional collaboration for AN and AI adoption across the organization. Evaluate and integrate new technologies.

Skills and knowledge for success:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field (Master’s, PhD, or MBA preferred).
• Minimum 10 years in AI strategy, technology partnerships, or related roles with a track record of successful strategy execution and cross-functional team leadership.
• Strong understanding of AI technologies, trends, and business applications.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to drive innovation.
• Strong leadership and project management abilities.
