Job Title: Principal Data Strategist

Job Description

This role involves close collaboration with clients to gain a deep understanding of their business ecosystem and objectives. This understanding will be leveraged to co-create data and technology strategies that are directly aligned with their goals. The individual will be instrumental in defining a clear vision for the client enterprise’s transformation into a data-driven organization, ensuring this vision is in harmony with the overarching business strategy.

The Principal Data Strategist will provide expert consultation on intricate data programs, offering technical leadership and guidance as a data subject matter expert. This role requires leading and engaging with clients across diverse domains, tackling a wide range of challenging problems, and working collaboratively with sales teams to translate these challenges into feasible solutions.

A key aspect of the role involves acting as a crucial translator between business needs, data intricacies, and IT capabilities. The individual will be responsible for effectively communicating complex data strategies to senior client stakeholders, including C-level executives.

This role also involves enabling capability building within client organizations in the areas of data strategy and governance, contributing to the development of the next generation of data strategists.

The creation of differentiated assets in data strategy and governance for market engagement is expected.

Finally, the Principal Data Strategist will represent the organization in various online and offline forums, including industry events and conferences.

Job Qualifications

Technical Skills

• Extensive experience as a consultant with a demonstrated history of developing data strategies and solutions that deliver tangible business value.
• Solid experience working with diverse data platforms and technologies.
• Proven experience in providing advisory and consultative guidance to clients and cross-functional delivery teams.
• Experience in effectively engaging with C-level stakeholders to influence and facilitate the operationalization of an enterprise-wide data strategy.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including the ability to lead technical teams and drive projects to successful completion.
• Flexibility and adaptability to work on a variety of projects, applying technical expertise and leadership skills to maximize impact.
• A proven track record of establishing and ensuring adherence to proper data governance policies, including data lineage, quality checks, and classification.
• Familiarity with AI and ML use cases and the broader landscape to inform the development of appropriate solutions for extracting valuable insights from data.
• Experience in constructing high-level solution frameworks, utilizing various paradigms such as data-as-a-product and federated governance, as needed.
• Experience with data governance, data security, and data privacy principles in support of business requirements.
