Senior Data Engineer – Omni-Channel E-Commerce & Data Solutions

Job Description
The Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure to support data-driven initiatives. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimize data models, enhance data security, and ensure system reliability and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines for ingesting and processing large structured and unstructured datasets from multiple sources.
  • Optimize data models and schemas for efficient storage, retrieval, and analysis.
  • Implement data integration solutions to consolidate data from various systems.
  • Work with Data Scientists and Analysts to provide clean, reliable, and structured data.
  • Deploy and manage data infrastructure in cloud environments such as AWS and Azure.
  • Ensure data security, including encryption of Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
  • Monitor and optimize performance, scalability, and reliability of data systems.
  • Develop MLOps production pipelines to deploy ML/DL models at scale in cloud and on-premise environments.
  • Maintain documentation, standards, and best practices for data engineering processes.
  • Evaluate and introduce next-generation technologies in data ingestion workflows.
  • Provide technical guidance on cloud architecture for data projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (Advanced degrees preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, with expertise in data structures and algorithms.
  • Hands-on experience with big data technologies such as Spark and Kafka.
  • Proficiency in SQL and relational databases (e.g., Azure SQL DB, AWS Redshift).
  • Experience with data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS S3, AWS Step Functions, AWS Airflow, Azure Data Logic Apps).
  • Experience setting up SSO using Active Directory and implementing Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
