Data Engineer – Real Estate Analytics and Infrastructure

Job Description
As a Data Engineer within the Research Team, you will play a pivotal role in designing and maintaining the data infrastructure that powers real estate analytics and insights. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will ensure the availability, integrity, and quality of data for advanced analytics and decision-making. This position requires expertise in data engineering, programming, and a deep understanding of real estate data challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and manage data pipelines and ETL processes for real estate data from various sources.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and address data requirements.
  • Cleanse, transform, and integrate real estate datasets to ensure consistency, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Implement data quality checks and validation processes to detect and resolve issues.
  • Develop and maintain data models, database structures, and data dictionaries for efficient data management.
  • Optimize data systems for scalability, performance, and cost-efficiency.
  • Support data scientists and analysts by fulfilling data requirements and enabling advanced insights.
  • Stay informed on emerging tools, technologies, and best practices in data engineering and the real estate sector.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations in handling real estate data.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer, with expertise in real estate data, data pipelines, and ETL processes.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, or Java.
  • Hands-on experience with data engineering tools like Apache Spark, Hadoop, or Airflow.
  • Proficiency in relational databases, data warehouses, and big data technologies.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, database design, and data integration techniques.
  • Familiarity with real estate data sources, including MLS data, property listings, or geospatial data.
  • Knowledge of data governance, quality, and security practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for large and complex datasets.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.
  • A mindset for continuous learning and adapting to new technologies and trends.
