AI Support Engineer – AI Platforms & Technical Support

Job Description
The AI Support Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation and reliability of advanced AI platforms. This position focuses on providing rapid responses to technical issues, implementing monitoring and alerting systems, and collaborating with engineering teams to improve platform performance. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of AI/LLM concepts, technical support engineering, and troubleshooting, as well as a proactive approach to driving platform adoption and customer trust.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first line of response for customer and application issues related to AI platforms.
  • Maintain and enhance monitoring and alerting systems, including LLM Observability tools.
  • Implement robust incident management and post-mortem processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, leveraging AI and technical expertise.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to AI engineering teams when necessary.
  • Develop and maintain support documentation, processes, and user guides.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance and engineering teams to enhance AI products.
  • Continuously improve support processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Stay updated on advancements in AI/LLM technologies.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Hands-on experience with AI/LLM platforms like OpenAI and Anthropic.
  • Expertise in Retrieval Augmented Generation and vector databases (e.g., Redis, Elastic, Pinecone).
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Java.
  • Familiarity with Linux and container runtime environments like Kubernetes.
  • Experience with DevOps release pipelines and popular SDLC tools.
  • Proficiency in monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog) and alerting systems (e.g., Opsgenie).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Demonstrated ownership in driving technical issues to resolution.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Experience with advanced AI performance monitoring techniques.
  • Expertise in addressing Vector Database challenges at scale, including embedding/retrieval performance and availability.
  • Familiarity with AI/LLM architectures and the ability to address issues such as model response latency and time-to-first-token challenges.
