Job Description:

Assistant Manager, Academic Informatics Office

Key Responsibilities:

• Data Concierge (60% of time)

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all data-related requests (e.g., data extraction, reporting, analytics, AI initiatives, data governance).
  • Leverage and continuously enhance the data concierge knowledge base/playbook (including data catalogs, provider lists, governance policies, etc.) and checklist.
  • Adhere to pre-defined timelines for responding to requests (differentiating between simple and complex inquiries).
  • Track and follow-up on service tickets diligently.
  • Develop a deep understanding of data sources, structures, tools, providers, innovations, and governance best practices.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with various stakeholders across the organization.
  • Actively participate in data concierge roadshows and on-site clinics.
  • Collaborate closely with fellow data concierge professionals to assist in rostering and team coordination.

• Data Analytics (40% of time)

  • Execute complex queries, manipulate large datasets, and conduct in-depth analyses to identify patterns, trends, and relationships.
  • Take ownership of end-to-end analytics solutions, encompassing data extraction, preparation, visualization, and evaluation.

Requirements:

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cloud Engineering, Information Systems, Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Health Informatics, or a related technical field. Relevant data-related certifications are a plus.
• Highly dynamic, detail-oriented, flexible, and self-motivated individual.
• Proven project management skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with a strong emphasis on building collaborative relationships and effectively engaging with stakeholders of varying data literacy levels.
• Ability to simplify complex data-related concepts and jargon, communicating them clearly and concisely.
• Solid understanding of ETL principles.
• Proficiency in SQL, including the ability to write and execute both simple and complex queries for data retrieval and analysis.
• Prior experience with data-related programming languages (e.g., Python, R) and data visualization tools is a significant advantage.
• Proficiency in data programming languages (e.g., R, Python) and data visualization tools (Tableau, Spotfire, Qlikview, QuickSight, PowerBI, etc.) is highly preferred.
• Appreciation of cloud platforms and their related services (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure, etc.).
• Opportunity to participate in EMR system training provided by the company.
• Demonstrated “can-do” attitude with the ability to work independently and thrive in environments with some ambiguity.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a keen interest in learning and applying new knowledge.
