      Data Scientist – Measurement, Singapore

      Job Description:
      The Data Scientist role within the measurement team focuses on applying economic thinking and rigorous scientific methods to inform decision-making across various product functions and business strategies. You will collaborate with business teams to translate real-world problems into solvable modeling challenges. Your work will involve developing frameworks to evaluate the impact of policies, optimizing resource allocation, and driving improvements in the company’s e-commerce ecosystem, including seller growth, content supply, and user engagement.

      What You’ll Do:

      • Convert business requirements into solvable modeling problems, using economic and scientific methods like causal inference, economic modeling, and experimentation.
      • Develop frameworks to evaluate the impact of policies and strategies, including long-term predictions.
      • Identify key mechanisms and optimize business actions to improve impact, including marketing and resource allocation.
      • Drive improvements in the e-commerce ecosystem, including growth in sellers, content supply, governance, and user engagement.

      What You’ll Bring:

      • A Master’s degree or higher in economics, statistics, operations research, finance, quantitative marketing, or a related field.
      • A proven track record in applying economics techniques to business problems, along with coding ability in R, Python, and/or SQL.
      • Strong experience communicating scientific approaches to business leaders and delivering impactful scientific solutions.
      • At least 3 years of data analysis experience, with preference for experience in a large tech company.

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Strong writing and presentation skills.
      • Experience in areas of applied economics such as causal analysis, predictive modeling, forecasting, or financial economics.
