Job Description

The Lead AI Engineer plays a pivotal role in driving the development and deployment of advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning models while supporting the establishment of a Generative AI (GenAI) Center of Excellence. This role involves close collaboration with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to identify AI opportunities and design solutions that address business needs. The Lead AI Engineer is part of the Group IT – Data & Platform Management team, driving data and analytics initiatives and promoting the democratization of GenAI across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Innovation and Exploration: Lead innovation initiatives, explore GenAI technologies, and contribute to Proof-of-Concept projects.
• Democratization of GenAI: Develop and promote standards to ensure consistency and quality in GenAI implementations.
• Center of Excellence Establishment: Support the creation of a GenAI Center of Excellence, providing guidance, mentoring, training, and assistance to business units.
• AI Design and Development: Design and implement AI solutions for business use cases, including generative AI models and ML Ops.
• Model Optimization and Experimentation: Optimize generative models for performance and scalability, experiment with advanced algorithms, and monitor model drift for retraining.
• Data Analysis and Pre-processing: Analyze and process large datasets, handling diverse data modalities, and enhance model performance.
• Deployment and Integration: Deploy models into production environments and collaborate with software engineers for seamless integration.
• AI Technology Expertise: Stay updated with advancements in AI and GenAI, contributing to cutting-edge projects.

Skills for Success

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, AI/ML Engineering, Business Analytics, or related fields.
• At least 10 years of professional experience in data engineering and analytics, with 5 years focused on Data Science/AI/ML and Generative AI technologies.
• Proficiency in Python, Rust, SQL, and AI/ML frameworks like Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
• Expertise in Generative AI frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, and OpenAI) and techniques like prompt engineering and model fine-tuning.
• Experience with developing LLM-based RAG workflows, embeddings, and multimodal language models.
• Familiarity with cloud-based AI services, agile project management tools, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and deliver end-to-end AI applications.
