Lead Engineer/Engineer, AI & Data Engineering

Job Description:
The Lead Engineer/Engineer in AI & Data Engineering will play a critical role in managing and delivering data-driven solutions, ensuring projects meet schedule, budget, and quality requirements. The candidate will collaborate with stakeholders to implement state-of-the-art technologies while adhering to policies and security guidelines.
Responsibilities Include:
Deliver projects on time, within budget, and resolve issues effectively.
Provide updates to management, track milestones, and ensure proper expenditure.
Engage stakeholders to deliver systems aligned with contractual requirements.
Identify and manage risks, recommending mitigating measures.
Oversee contractual and payment matters and maintain service-level agreements.
Ensure system and process compliance with prevailing policies and security guidelines.
Manage integration and testing of hardware/software components.
Depending on suitability, additional responsibilities may include:
Collaborate with external agencies and departments to bring in data (e.g., sensory data and images).
Build and maintain data pipelines for cleaning, harmonizing, and consolidating data sources.
Ensure data quality and security for analysis and visualization purposes.
Apply machine learning/AI techniques to problem statements.
Simplify ideas and present to stakeholders and senior management.
Stay updated with technological advances in Big Data, database design, and policies.
Skills and Qualifications:
Tertiary qualification in computer science, electrical engineering, information systems, data science, mathematics, statistics, or related analytical fields.
Postgraduate qualifications and/or more than 5 years of experience in relevant domains considered for senior roles.
Strong project management skills.
Proficiency in:
Big Data/Container Technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Elasticsearch, Docker, Kubernetes)
Cloud Technologies (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure)
Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence
Computer Vision and Video Analytics
Knowledge of ML/AI scripting languages (Python, R) and data query languages (e.g., SQL, Painless for Elasticsearch) is advantageous.
Familiarity with network design, servers, network components, and critical operational activities is a plus.
Additional Information:
All new hires are appointed on a two-year contract initially, with potential for permanent tenure based on performance. Shortlisted applicants may be required to complete further assessments.
