Job Description: Data Scientist Intern

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute innovative strategies to enhance user safety, data privacy, and service reliability on a global scale.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product, development, engineering, and legal, to facilitate seamless development and operations.
• Partner with service providers to establish efficient processes and develop cutting-edge internal and external tools for data engineering, code deployment, and service reliability.
• Support other teams in extending WeChat features to a global user base, ensuring compliance and accessibility.

Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
• Proficiency in software design, development, and deployment practices, with expertise in at least one of the following programming languages: C++, Java, Python, Scala, or Golang.
• Less than 1.5 years remaining in your academic program at the time of internship commencement.
• Ability to commit to a full-time internship (Mon-Fri) for a minimum of three months or a part-time internship (minimum 4 days/week) for a minimum of five months.
• Demonstrated strong sense of ownership, customer-centric mindset, and integrity.
• Proven ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Prior experience in the internet industry or relevant internships is preferred.
• Fluency in both English and Mandarin to effectively communicate with international and HQ-based stakeholders.
