Job Description

OT Cybersecurity Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Cybersecurity Strategy and Implementation:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive cybersecurity strategies and policies for OT systems.
  • Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability scans to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Design, implement, and manage security controls, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity trends and technologies.
• Incident Response and Recovery:
  • Develop and maintain incident response plans.
  • Respond to security incidents promptly and effectively.
  • Conduct thorough investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Implement corrective actions to prevent future incidents.
• Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., NERC CIP, IEC 62443).
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify and address compliance gaps.
• Collaboration and Communication:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, and engineering.
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Provide clear and concise reports on security status and incident response activities.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Technical Skills:
  • Strong understanding of OT systems, protocols, and architectures (e.g., Modbus, DNP3, OPC UA).
  • Proficiency in network security concepts, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Experience with security tools and technologies (e.g., SIEM, SOAR, vulnerability scanners).
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CIS Controls).
• Soft Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.¹

• Certifications (Preferred):
  • CISSP
  • GICSP
  • CISM

Additional Considerations:

• Experience: Previous experience in OT cybersecurity, industrial control systems, or related fields is highly desirable.
