Job Description: Vendor Manager

Job Summary:

The Vendor Manager will play a crucial role in optimizing vendor relationships and mitigating risks associated with the supply chain. This position will work closely with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and key clients to ensure seamless vendor performance, cost-effectiveness, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vendor Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key vendors.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor-related inquiries and issues.
    • Proactively identify and address potential risks and challenges.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide timely feedback.
  • Contract Management:
    • Review, analyze, and negotiate vendor contracts to ensure alignment with business objectives.
    • Monitor contract compliance and enforce terms and conditions.
    • Manage contract renewals, amendments, and terminations.
  • Risk Management:
    • Assess vendor risks, including financial, operational, and reputational risks.
    • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
    • Stay informed about industry trends and regulatory changes that may impact vendor relationships.
  • Performance Management:
    • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure vendor performance.
    • Analyze vendor performance data to identify areas for improvement.
    • Collaborate with vendors to develop and implement performance improvement plans.
  • Cost Optimization:
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities and negotiate favorable terms with vendors.
    • Monitor and control vendor expenses to ensure budget adherence.
  • Strategic Sourcing:
    • Support strategic sourcing initiatives by providing vendor expertise and market insights.
    • Identify and evaluate potential new vendors.
  • Project Management:
    • Manage vendor-related projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project timelines and budgets.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in vendor management, procurement, or supply chain management.
  • Strong understanding of contract law and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and contract management software.
