Enterprise Security Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of all enterprise security tools (e.g., firewalls, email gateways, IDS/IPS, EDR, AV, CASB, and SWG).
- Conduct security architecture reviews and provide recommendations regarding configurations, policies, and alignment with industry security standards.
- Perform routine audits and assessments of security tools to verify compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
- Participate in the evaluation and selection of new security tools and technologies, conducting proof-of-concept testing and providing recommendations to improve the overall security posture.
- Participate in new security tool implementations, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to security tools, working closely with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure timely resolution.
- Assist in developing and maintaining security documentation, including policies, procedures, and guidelines, such as standard operating procedures (SOPs), user guides, and knowledge base articles.
- Review security logs and reports to identify patterns or anomalies that may indicate a security breach.
- Respond to security incidents and resolve them in a timely manner.
- Work with teams across different time zones and collaborate with cross-functional teams within the organization to ensure that security policies and procedures are followed.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats and vulnerabilities, and implement appropriate countermeasures.
Qualifications:
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or related field.
- Proven experience in IT security operations with a focus on security tool administration and maintenance.
- 3 years of experience working in a security system administration role, such as IT Security Engineer or Cyber Security Engineer.
- Proficient in performing routine maintenance tasks on security tools, such as updates, patches, and upgrades.
- Strong understanding of security tools, technologies, and industry best practices, including NGFW firewalls, SIEM, IDS/IPS, antivirus, vulnerability scanners, and related tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or STEM field.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues related to security tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in a global team environment, effectively managing multiple tasks and priorities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors.
- Familiarity with network and system security concepts and technologies, Windows and Linux system security, application security, etc.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Security+, CEH, CISSP, GCIA) are a plus.
- Programming, threat hunting, and pentesting abilities are preferred.
