Insider Risk Investigator

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth investigations and analysis of large, complex datasets to identify potential insider risks.
  • Track key metrics, pinpoint vulnerabilities, and generate comprehensive investigative reports.
  • Leverage open-source intelligence (OSINT) to proactively detect emerging insider threats.
  • Author insightful reports on regional trends and patterns, effectively communicating findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Actively monitor, triage, and investigate alerts, collaborating with team members to identify patterns and trends.
  • Manage insider risk incidents within designated regions and provide global support as needed.
  • Partner with team members to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, data analytics, or a related field (e.g., information security, privacy, risk management) from an accredited institution.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in insider risk, internal fraud, or counterintelligence.
  • Proven ability to identify risks, analyze data for red flags, and author reports for legal proceedings, adhering to standards of evidence and chain of custody.
  • Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • ITPM or CFE certifications preferred.
  • Experience working with Insider Risk technologies such as UAM, SIEM, DLP, and UEBA.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of insider risk schemes, data exfiltration, monitoring, and detection techniques.
  • Proven experience conducting comprehensive insider risk investigations and authoring detailed investigative reports.
  • Proficiency in conducting subject and witness interviews in corporate settings to gather information and corroborate evidence.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, coupled with strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.
  • Expert-level knowledge of insider risk, cybercrime, and data loss prevention and detection.
  • Exceptional time management, prioritization, and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative in driving investigations, mitigating risks, and fostering positive relationships.
  • Strong motivation to contribute to and grow within a complex and critical field.
