Job Description
As a Threat Research Engineer, you will play a critical role in safeguarding our organization’s digital assets. You will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and mitigating advanced threats.
Responsibilities:
- Threat Hunting and Detection:
- Conduct proactive threat hunting activities to identify potential security breaches.
- Develop and implement advanced threat detection techniques, including signature-based and anomaly-based detection.
- Analyze security logs and network traffic to identify suspicious activity.
- Threat Intelligence:
- Collect, analyze, and disseminate threat intelligence to inform security decisions.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest threat landscape and emerging cyber threats.
- Collaborate with security teams to share threat intelligence and improve security posture.
- Incident Response:
- Respond to security incidents, including data breaches and cyberattacks.
- Conduct forensic investigations to determine the root cause of incidents.
- Implement remediation measures to prevent future incidents.
- Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing:
- Identify and assess vulnerabilities in systems and applications.
- Conduct penetration testing to evaluate the organization’s security posture.
- Work with development teams to address vulnerabilities and improve security.
- Research and Development:
- Research emerging security technologies and trends.
- Develop innovative security tools and techniques.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest security frameworks and standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and security principles.
- Experience with security tools and technologies, such as intrusion detection systems, firewalls, and SIEM.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) and programming languages (C++, Java).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Certification in cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA) is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms and frameworks.
- Knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques.
- Experience with cloud security and cloud-native technologies.
- Experience with incident response and digital forensics.
