Senior Product Security Engineer
Position Summary
The Product Security Team is seeking a talented Senior Product Security Engineer to bolster our world-class security posture. As a key member of the team, you will play a pivotal role in defining, identifying, evaluating, and maintaining security controls, ensuring the health and security of our products.
You will collaborate closely with engineering, development, and technology teams to define and implement robust security measures for our medical device and software solutions. You will be responsible for testing and validating components of these solutions to elevate product security to the next level.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough security testing of physical medical devices and interconnected cloud services.
Collaborate with development teams to perform product threat modeling exercises and provide expert guidance on risk mitigation strategies.
Develop detailed security testing reports summarizing findings for manufacturing process systems and software validation projects.
Establish and communicate expectations for effective vulnerability management, encompassing identification, triage, analysis, and remediation recommendations.
Evaluate existing security controls to identify gaps and areas for improvement.
Consult with Engineering and Development Teams to address complex security challenges.
Conduct independent security research on genomic sequencing devices.
Drive security initiatives by translating findings into actionable steps and deliverables.
Understand attack methods and vectors, and leverage this knowledge to develop comprehensive test cases that identify software weaknesses and logic flaws.
Collaborate with development teams to address identified issues and implement effective solutions.
Document regulatory requirements for product submissions.
Requirements
Minimum of 3+ years of application and product security experience with a proven track record of delivering effective security solutions.
In-depth knowledge of medical device security testing standards and best practices.
Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in Linux shell, PowerShell, Perl, and/or Python.
Coding experience in one or more of the following: .Net, Java, Perl, JavaScript.
Familiarity with software security tools such as nMap, Wireshark, Kali Linux, and OpenVAS.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey complex security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience working in a regulated industry, such as medical devices, is highly preferred.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Relevant industry certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, CSSLP, or OSCP, are highly valued.
