Cybersecurity Engineer
Job Purpose:
As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding company’s digital assets. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and operating robust security solutions that protect our networks, systems, and data from cyber threats. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our critical information.
Key Responsibilities:
Security Architecture and Implementation:
Design, implement, and maintain secure network and system configurations, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security controls.
Collaborate with IT teams to integrate security considerations into infrastructure and application development.
Stay abreast of emerging threats and vulnerabilities, and implement countermeasures to mitigate risks.
Security Operations:
Monitor security systems and logs to identify potential threats and anomalies.
Respond to security incidents promptly and effectively, minimizing impact and preventing future occurrences.
Conduct regular security assessments, including vulnerability scans and penetration testing.
Policy and Compliance:
Assist in developing and maintaining security policies, standards, and guidelines.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal security requirements.
Conduct security awareness training for employees to foster a security-conscious culture.
Automation and Efficiency:
Leverage automation tools to streamline security operations and improve efficiency.
Develop scripts and tools to automate routine tasks and enhance incident response capabilities.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
5+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on network security.
Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security technologies.
Experience with cloud security, preferably AWS or Azure.
Knowledge of industry standards and frameworks, such as CISSP, NIST, and ISO 27001.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification.
Experience with security automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
Knowledge of threat intelligence and incident response methodologies.
