Job Description

System Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Server Administration:
  • Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain Windows Server environments (2008 R2, 2012, 2012 R2, 2016, 2019)
  • Implement security best practices, including patching, hardening, and access control
• Virtualization:
  • Configure, troubleshoot, and optimize VMware virtualization solutions
  • Perform upgrades, migrations, and patching of VMware products
• Storage Management:
  • Configure and troubleshoot various storage brands (Lenovo, IBM, HP, Dell, etc.)
  • Update storage firmware and execute storage migrations
  • Manage Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) solutions like Nutanix and VMware VSAN
• Backup and Recovery:
  • Configure and troubleshoot backup solutions (Veeam Backup & Replication, Veritas Backup Exec, Veritas NetBackup, etc.)
  • Implement effective backup and recovery strategies
• Network Fundamentals:
  • Possess a solid understanding of networking concepts, including switching, routing, and firewall configuration/troubleshooting

Required Skills and Experience:

• Strong knowledge of Windows Server operating systems
• Experience with VMware virtualization technologies
• Familiarity with storage systems and network infrastructure
• Problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing environments

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications in Microsoft, VMware, or other relevant technologies
• Experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, Python)
• Knowledge of ITIL frameworks
