Role Overview
The Data Engineer will work across teams to provide technical subject matter expertise, contributing to the successful implementation of data solutions using modern technologies. This role involves the planning, execution, and delivery of data initiatives, with a focus on expanding and optimizing data pipelines and architecture. The position requires hands-on development using Microsoft Azure data engineering tools, Databricks, and data integration with Python and Java.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines to ingest, process, and store data from various sources.
• Optimize data processing and storage for high-volume, near-real-time, and batch data pipelines.
• Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting to ensure accuracy and availability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline issues to minimize business disruption.
• Collaborate with teams to define functional and technical requirements.
• Document technical specifications, processes, and workflows.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure clear communication.

Qualifications

• Required Experience:
  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering.
  • Proficient in Python, Java, and SQL.
  • Familiar with cloud computing platforms and data engineering tools.
  • Experience with data lake and data warehouse pipelines.
  • Knowledge of technical integrations (e.g., microservices, API, stream processing).
  • Familiar with CI/CD pipeline tools like Azure DevOps or GitHub.
  • Strong communication skills for explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Preferred Experience:
  • Tertiary qualifications in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related discipline.
  • Cloud technology and data engineering certifications.
