Role Overview
The Data Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading and growing the data team in Singapore. This role will focus on designing scalable data solutions, optimizing data processing systems, and ensuring data quality. The manager will collaborate closely with data analysts, the algorithms team, and architects to enhance data frameworks and support global data initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and mentor the data engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
• Make technical decisions on optimal data solutions and architectures.
• Maintain and upgrade existing data processing systems, ensuring efficient performance and adaptability to new data requirements.
• Work with data analysts to enhance existing data production systems, implement new data features, and support data-driven decision-making.
• Collaborate with the algorithms team to leverage algorithmic capabilities to improve data production efficiency.
• Design strategies to improve data quality and implement solutions to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Enhance data processing frameworks, optimize data pipeline performance, and increase data handling capabilities.
• Partner with data architects on system upgrades and architectural improvements.
• Coordinate with the engineering team in other locations to deliver global data products.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience managing data engineering teams with strong leadership capabilities.
• 5+ years of experience in big data processing and engineering.
• Expertise in building data warehouses and data lakes.
• Proficiency in Java and Python; familiarity with Shell or other ETL frameworks is a plus.
• Solid understanding of database principles with extensive experience in data quality management and data processing optimization.
• Knowledge of major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Experience in web scraping is a plus.
• Background in large model applications and algorithms is preferred.
• Strong responsibility, proactive work attitude, and effective communication skills.
• Team player with excellent communication skills; international work experience is highly preferred.
