Senior Data Scientist – Ad Tech Fraud Detection & Prevention with AI/ML Focus and Privacy Expertise

Role Overview
As a Senior Data Scientist in Ad Tech Fraud Detection & Prevention, you’ll drive AI/ML solutions addressing fraud and privacy challenges within the advertising space. Working across global teams, you’ll develop cutting-edge models and algorithms, drawing from complex datasets to support privacy-conscious fraud prevention. This role involves close collaboration with data scientists, product managers, and cross-functional teams to ensure legal compliance and address evolving industry needs.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a privacy and data protection expert, collaborating with legal, engineering, and product teams to refine privacy-enhanced services.
  • Implement advanced machine learning techniques, including deep and reinforcement learning, for fraud detection while ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Stay current with industry trends, developing new algorithms for emerging fraud patterns.
  • Support products by troubleshooting client issues through data analysis and research.
  • Identify and mitigate new fraud types with early-detection algorithms.
  • Develop visualizations, document methodologies, and present findings to product and marketing teams.
  • Automate reporting, validate statistical hypotheses, and drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Mentor junior team members, promoting knowledge-sharing and growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields.
  • 4+ years in data science, specializing in AI/ML and privacy.
  • Skilled in SQL and Python (R is a plus), with deep knowledge of ML algorithms and frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Keras.
  • Familiarity with global privacy regulations, particularly European data laws.
  • Preferred: MS/PhD in quantitative fields, knowledge of AWS and UNIX, and experience in privacy-enhancing technologies and data protection impact assessments.
