Job Description
The Senior Data Engineer will join the Data Analytics team in Singapore within the Digital Excellence Center (DEC), a unit of 150 staff with strong expertise in process digitalization and data analytics. The role will involve transforming raw data into valuable insights, applying data mining, modeling, machine learning, and NLP techniques. The Data Engineer will also support and enhance existing Business Intelligence (BI) solutions and ETL pipelines, ensuring compliance with company standards. This role is key in delivering high-performance and reliable data solutions for the bank’s diverse business lines such as Risk, Finance, Compliance, and Trade Finance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement data applications to convert raw data into actionable insights.
• Apply data mining, modeling, and machine learning techniques to analyze structured and unstructured data.
• Create dynamic data reports and visualizations to communicate findings effectively.
• Maintain and improve existing BI solutions and ETL pipelines.
• Collaborate with architects, business analysts, and project managers to gather requirements and design technical solutions.
• Provide detailed technical work plans, estimates, and improvement plans.
• Perform peer reviews and mentor junior staff.
• Ensure adherence to company standards and compliance rules.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation within the department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 8-10 years of experience in Data Engineering, preferably in a banking or financial services environment.
• At least 5 years of experience with Microsoft Business Intelligence tools (Tabular Analysis Service, Data Warehousing, Power BI, etc.).
• Proficient with CI/CD tools, preferably Azure DevOps.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proactive problem-solving attitude and the ability to anticipate risks.
• Additional experience with data science tools (e.g., Python, Spark) and test-driven development is a plus.
