Job Description
As a Big Data Platform Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in building and managing a data platform that supports critical national security missions. The position requires pushing technology boundaries to optimize the big data pipeline, from ingestion to processing. The role offers opportunities to innovate with the latest technologies, delivering value while ensuring optimal system performance and availability.

Primary Responsibilities

• Design and maintain real-time, high-volume data processing, querying, and persistence solutions.
• Develop resilient, scalable, and sustainable Big Data platforms.
• Manage Big Data platform services, including configuration, backup, and recovery across clusters.
• Use DevOps and automation tools for efficient cluster deployment and management.
• Develop performance and health monitoring tools to ensure system optimization.
• Collaborate with various teams to support onboarding and operations of the platform.
• Conduct resource planning and scaling for increased workload support.
• Engage in research and evaluation of new technologies to enhance system efficiency.
• Continuously innovate and improve existing systems.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• Strong communication skills.
• Positive attitude with a commitment to teamwork.
• Passion for big data and open-source technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in managing physical and virtual infrastructures.
• Familiarity with cluster management and DevOps tools (e.g., Ansible, Kubernetes).
• Experience working with application or product teams in an agile environment.
