Led a team of 15 engineers with various level of experience across India, Singapore and Germany. Owned the technical data strategy to achieve the vision of the broader data team.

Key Accomplishments:

• Optimized the existing data platform which resulted in a savings of about $72K USD annually and a runway to save another 40K USD annually on the data infra cost.

• Reduced the turnaround time of ingesting data from new sources by 80% (from one sprint to 2 days) by adopting config driven design.

• Rolled out self-serve features for analysts to publish their own workload on Airflow without having to be dependent on Engineers.

• Achieved Full GDPR compliance on the data platform by introducing tokenization and automated data deletion and data access management workflows.

• Implemented a data sharing framework within Yara to enable seamless sharing of data between different teams without having to copy and move data.

In the last 9 months, I also had the opportunity to contribute to the AI/GenAI foundations for AgTech. I helped design and guide the implementation of an agronomist AI chatbot using proprietary data from Yara – a RAG implementation using AWS bedrock for POC and then a full-fledged implementation on Sagemaker using langchain & huggingface

Senior Manager - Data (Commerce Enablement)

Responsible for the data strategy and day to day running of the data function for Commerce Enablement (CE) group (Comprising of 4 different products) under GoTo Financial. Led a team of 15 folks that included Data Engineers, Data Analysts, Data Scientists and ML Engineers. Worked with Product, Engineering, Sales & Marketing teams to identify and define data problems from business problems and define objective and key results for the data team.

Key Accomplishments:

• Improved the explain-ability of deviations in KPIs due to changes in definition or logic by introducing a KPI management framework.

• Created the competency frameworks for various roles within the data team.

Manager - Data Engineer (Commerce Enablement)

Managed the data stack for Moka that served 150 users across Product, Sales & Marketing and operations teams. After Moka was acquired by Gojek (now GoTo Group), Made Moka data available to Gojek for merchant acquisition and life cycle management as a quick win (within 1 month) while migrating the data stack to the tools in Gojek (long term). Bridged the gap in data maturity between Moka and Gojek. Led a team of 5 data engineers to standardize and manage the data stacks for other Gojek products under CE – GoKasir & Selly

Key Accomplishments:

• Collaborated with the Gojek Data Engineering team to establish the data standards for CE.

• Owned all the data and analytics ADRs within CE.

• Modernization of the moka data stack to use ELT (kappa architecture) as well as migrating from AWS to GCP.

• Contribute to solving the problems around Data lineage, Data security and governance within the wider data team in Gojek.

Senior Engineer - Data

Responsible for the overall data architecture and infrastructure spending for the data team. Ingested data from various sources like internal product DBs, operational Google sheets, 3rd party systems like Clevertap, Hubspot,Zendesk, Jurnal etc. Built data assets using pySpark on EMR cluster (lifecycle managed entirely by code to spend responsibly) and productionize data science models – lead scoring, churn propensity, classification/tiering image processing for KYC automation.

Key Accomplishments:

• Built the data stack from scratch.

• Optimized the initial implementation to achieve a turnaround time of 1 days for Data Availability.

• Scaled the data stack while keeping the infra cost at < $50K USD annually (Well within 70% of the budget)

Data & Software Engineering Consultant

Solution & System Architecture – micro services, event driven architectures, full-stack Development (Java and NodeJS).Designed and implemented a solution for a private bank as part of their business information security team to secure information that flows via emails with minimal disruptions for the users. Managed a team of full stack engineers.

Data Engineer

Part of the founding team.

• Developed Restful APIs for the backend using C#, Frond end Visualizations using D3.js and highcharts.

• Built data pipelines and data assets using Java (JTS, Spring boot batch) & SQL server. Productionized value estimation model and demand model built by the data scientist.

• Research and development of geo spatial analytics solutions (isochrones, noise index, lifestyle index) using QGIS, JTS / NTS.

Software Developer - Java

Started as Programmer Analyst Trainee and ended as an Associate. Worked for TIAA-Cref a North American non profitable organization – provider of financial services in the academic, research, medical, cultural and governmental fields. Full-Stack Development using Java and Spring framework, jQuery and HTML5.
