About me (Registered since 10/02/2026)
I am an engineering professional with a career grounded in discipline, adaptability, and continuous learning. I began my professional journey in the Singapore Armed Forces, where I spent over a decade in technically demanding and operational roles, eventually taking on leadership responsibilities that required accountability for systems, people, and mission readiness. This experience shaped my structured approach to problem-solving, my ability to operate under pressure, and my understanding of how reliable systems and clear processes are critical in high-stakes environments.
After transitioning into civilian life, I moved into engineering and ICT roles supporting enterprise IT infrastructure. I worked hands-on with servers, networking, virtualization, and integrated systems, often troubleshooting across hardware, software, and network layers. These roles strengthened my technical fundamentals and exposed me to real-world constraints such as security requirements, operational continuity, and stakeholder expectations. Over time, I developed a strong reputation for reliability, technical ownership, and practical execution.
Recognising the rapid shift toward cloud computing, data, and AI, I made a deliberate decision to future-proof my career through formal education and self-driven upskilling. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Applied Computing, while simultaneously building real-world projects that apply theory to practice. I have designed and implemented cloud-native systems using AWS services, focusing on serverless architectures, scalability, access control, monitoring, and security. These projects were approached as production-ready systems rather than academic exercises.
In parallel, I have developed strong interests and capabilities in data engineering and machine learning. I have worked on end-to-end ML pipelines involving data preprocessing, exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, model training, evaluation, and deployment considerations. I have also explored modern AI techniques such as natural language processing and retrieval-augmented generation, gaining a practical understanding of both the potential and limitations of AI systems.
What defines my career is the combination of operational leadership and modern technical expertise. I approach cloud and AI systems with a strong emphasis on reliability, security, and real-world deployment. I am comfortable working across the full system lifecycle and collaborating with stakeholders from different technical and non-technical backgrounds.
Today, I am actively positioning myself for advanced roles in cloud, data, and AI engineering, particularly in environments where technology has meaningful impact. My career reflects a clear transition from operational foundations to future-ready engineering, guided by resilience, curiosity, and a long-term commitment to growth.
