Company Overview
A leading global semiconductor company is seeking a Principal SoC Architect to drive next-generation AI accelerator designs for datacenter deployments. The organization is at the forefront of advanced chip design, offering innovative solutions for AI, cloud computing, and secure, high-performance datacenter systems.

Summary
The Principal SoC Architect will define architecture and requirements for AI accelerator SoCs, spanning from card and server level to full rack deployments. The role involves leading design efforts focused on security, reliability, availability, serviceability (RAS), and virtualization for next-generation datacenter AI products.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze trends in datacenter security, RAS, and virtualization through customer and ODM engagements
  • Collaborate with customers to determine hardware and software requirements
  • Assess current AI server deployments across multiple datacenters
  • Architect enhancements for next-generation AI product deployment
  • Design SoC architecture in areas including:
    1. RAS – Reliability analysis at card, server, and rack level; implement hardware/software techniques to improve availability and serviceability
    2. Virtualization – Support multiple clients using VMs on the same hardware; ensure security and isolation
    3. Security – Implement confidential compute or equivalent based on datacenter requirements
  • Work closely with product marketing and datacenter teams to define requirements covering security, RAS, and virtualization

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or related field with 8+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, or integration experience
  • OR Master’s degree with 7+ years of relevant experience
  • OR PhD with 6+ years of relevant experience
  • 10+ years of hardware design, testing, and commercialization experience
  • 3+ years of experience with datacenter-related products such as servers and accelerators
  • Deep knowledge of datacenter security, RAS, virtualization, telemetry, power, cooling, and lifecycle deployments
  • Familiarity with scale-up and scale-out architectures
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a high-caliber international/multi-site team

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in server SoC security, especially confidential compute
  • Participation in OCP Security Forum or Confidential Compute Forum
  • Expertise in defining RAS infrastructure at server SoC level
  • Knowledge of PCIe protocols (SR-IOV, IOV, IDE, TDISP)
  • Understanding of Ethernet protocols with focus on error recovery and virtualization
  • Ability to work with PdM and datacenter customers to define complex technical requirements
